Individual & Couples Counselling
A Cognitive-Behavioural Approach
There are many times in life where the pressure and stress become too heavy to bear. Whether it is the stress of a job, the loss of someone you love, a significant life transition, or just the general overwhelm that life brings – it is natural to feel like you are carrying almost more than you can handle. This is where individual counseling comes in.
I approach counselling from a Cognitive-Behavioural (CBT) point of view. CBT is structured, practical, short-term, and goal-oriented. It has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems. It’s one of the most common and best-studied forms of psychotherapy. Through CBT, you can unlearn negative thoughts, unhelpful behaviors, and learn to adopt healthier thinking patterns and habits.
Here are some of the common reasons why people come to therapy:
- Experiencing chronic stress and feeling overwhelmed.
- Feeling drained from relationships or work.
- Communication problems with your partner or others.
- Significant life transitions or struggles.
- Breaking old relationship patterns.
- Bad habits from which you just can’t break free
- You would like your life to have more meaning.
