Relationship Therapy

No matter what your relationship looks like — be it family, couple, thruple, or pod — relationship therapy can serve as a highly beneficial resource at any stage of your shared journey.  Working together we will explore the challenges you face, work to help you develop stronger communication skills, and cultivate healthier interactions.

Relationship therapy isn’t just for times of struggle; even in loving and harmonious relationships, relationship therapy offers an opportunity to enhance communication and deepen your connection.  This therapeutic journey not only promotes personal growth but also fosters deeper emotional bonds, ultimately leading to more fulfilling relationships.

What happens in relationship therapy?

Relationship therapy typically involves sessions in which both partners are present. The process begins with an initial session attended by both partners. Following this, each partner has an individual session to discuss their personal challenges within the relationship. After completing these individual sessions, the therapy continues with joint sessions that include all partners.

To begin this journey, a general awareness of the areas you want to enhance, a willingness to embrace new experiences, and an open mindset are all you need.

Can Therapy Save my Relationship?

First and foremost, relationship work is an investment, not a guarantee. Since you have no control over the other person’s willingness or intent within your relationship, you cannot determine the outcome. Additionally, variables can sometimes impact progress, such as the readiness of each person to work through issues.

Regardless, relationship work is one of the most invaluable ways you can practice self-love and self-care. By focusing on your own role within the relationship, you gain a deeper understanding of yourself that can be a game changer in how you treat yourself and others. Invest in yourself and your relationships by healing old wounds so they don’t have the opportunity to steal your joy in the future.

What if our whole family, thruple, or pod needs help?

Relationship Therapy is based on the theory that the family, thruple, or pod is a system, a single unit in which the members are acting and reacting to one another.  If one part is not functioning properly, the other parts will be affected. But, if all parts are working well, the system will be at optimum performance.

As a unit and individually we’ll work together to assess both surface and underlying issues within the family system that may be contributing to the level of conflict or distress, and highlight the strengths and assets that can help improve the family’s overall well-being.

Length of Therapy

The duration of therapy can vary significantly based on your unique circumstances and goals. It’s completely understandable to want to know how long it may take to start feeling better. However, it’s essential to remember that there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Each journey is unique, and it’s perfectly fine to take the time you need.
